bouncy houses, and birthday wishes

Loving the jump house! He went 3 times, and wanted even more. :)
We Headed out to TLC for a night out, A National Night Out actually. Its an annual event, and we were able to go Tuesday night as a family. It was the San Angelo version of the Night Out Against Crime. The event brought out fire, police and emergency personnel to the events to strengthen neighborhood spirit and police-community partnerships, and send a message to criminals letting them know neighborhoods are a safe place to live. The events were sponsored in part by H-E-B, Target Stores, and Concho Valley Cares Coalition. At the Church they had $1,000 giveaway and several other door prizes, food, booths and information for the school and preschool. It was a good event and we enjoyed our time together.

The kids were so tired when we got home, but I got a few minutes before bed to sing Happy Birthday and slice into Sarah's birthday cake I had made her earlier that afternoon.

Excitedly opening presents!

A Christmas Like No Other..

We in the Powell Family Got to Celebrate Two Birthdays This Christmas.
Christmas Eve we enjoyed talking about Jesus and what he means to us. How we wouldn't have Christmas If It Weren't For Him.

Now If we were only prepared for the phone call we got at 4:30 in the morning on Christmas Day. ThatsRight, Roberts Sister, Brandie (Aunt B) Had her baby! In just 3 1/2 hours from that phone call, We welcomed Wesley Harper Brown! A little girl, who weighed 6lbs 14 oz , 19 3/4" Long @ 7:34a.m. In Abilene. Seeing how Caleb was obviously asleep still, we waited to go until he had his Christmas at our house. When he did wake up, we told him Santa had been there and that he's also been to Abilene and Dropped off a present to his Aunt B. and Cousin Wesley was here!! He was so excited...We didnt get home until about 8:15 p.m. that night. Whew were we tired and glad to be home. But what a Huge present for Brandie and George!!

Congratulations to you guys! You have an exciting adventure ahead!! Below are several pictures of our WHOLE day! Enjoy, and I hope that your Christmas was filled with as much love, joy, happiness and blessings as ours! Merry Christmas~Love, The Powells

What a weekend. Boy! I'm thankfully glad that its at an end. Pretty much it started on Thurs., and finished with Easter. Caleb turned 3 Thursday and we were all so excited, all of us, except for Caleb that is. I'm beginning to think that this "new baby" concept has put our little precious boy into a new dimension of upset. Nothing pleases, consoles, comforts or delights Caleb as it used to. He doesn't even LIKE me anymore, which breaks my heart. :( It took all our energy to go out to eat at Rosa's for his birthday dinner. With an abundance of whining remarks from the birthday boy about wanting only to open presents and not finish his food. He Got Shoes, Bob-the-Builder Tools and a new backpack. Tr es' Chic! Amidst all the whining and being upset about absolutely nothing, I did get a couple of smiles out of him:

Cut to Friday, different day, same attitude. Robert and I went birthday shopping for Caleb after work and he stayed at Mimi's/Grandpa's for a couple hours. We couldn't get him to lay down for bed, but he finally fell asleep in mom/dads bed. Yay!!
Sat morning, a little better, a lot hyper. Watched Enchantment and Caleb loved the chipmunk, but not the singing. Neither did daddy ;) This was definitely your classic little girls musical! Very Sweet! After the movie, we headed out to the mall to pick up family pics and have some sort of nourishment besides the two donuts that Caleb had at 8 that morning. Hence, the hyper. :) The Family Pics turned out super and so was breakfast. Went to a couple more places and ended up going home around 1 to rest/nap before the party. Still psyched cause the weather couldn't be better except for strong wind gusts. Everyone out the door by 2:30 and over to the park. Loaded down with ice cream, juice and loads of plates, cups, etc. themed of Bob-the-Builder, we were ready for a party! We were lucky to score a table and set up with little trouble. The wind was CRAZY!? Caleb was more excited about playing in the sand than helping out to set up. Luckily Kaylee, his daycare friend showed up! His excitement doubled after that! Some guests included: Aunts and Uncles, Great Grandparents, Grandparents, Mom and Dad, and some friends from Saturday night church service.
At Kirby Park with Kaylee, Calebs birthday party.

About to dive into the cake. Literally they just stuck their hands in!

With dozens of presents and plenty of cake, the birthday party was a hit! We wrapped up about 4:30 and we appreciated all that came and joined in on the fun.
Easter Sunday, was your regular cold/rainy Easter here in West Texas. I didn't bother wearing a dress or anything that resembled spring warm weather, except for a purple maternity shirt and khaki pants. Caleb wore his Church clothes that his MIMI had bought him. My sweet boy was ready for church in a tie, dress slacks, all the way down to his black penny loafers.
So church and dinner on the grounds, but no Easter egg hunt. It was just too rainy and wet. Caleb was set on having candy for dessert, and here came the "Easter bunny" at church with his dozens of plastic sack filled with Easter eggs for the kids. The Bunny always pulls through ;) Later, we went home for a nap, with another present from the Easter Bunny, A basketball hoop at Caleb's house! Then off again to Mimi's house for cheeseburgers and leftover birthday cake....with more Easter Bunny stops. This time he got a Wagon full of goodies, bubble bath and "egg" chalk.
Least to say our weekend was full of eventful experiences. Thanks again to all who attended the party and helped out. Hope everyone had an egg-cellent Resurrection Weekend! Praise Him for the rain and the sunshine! Jesus IS alive!
