Our Christmas Mini-Vacation

We were blessed to be able to take a little mini-vacation this year. We had plenty of relatives lined-up to visit, that's for sure ;)

Our MAIN trip was to my mom and dad's house (Grandma and Paw Paw Howsers) house. But to make it a semi-stressless trip, we asked mimi and papa if we could stay over at their place in Austin and just head out the next morning to Houston. That worked out great because we also got to have the kids Christmas with their Grandparents and AuntB, Uncle G, and their cousins. They even got to spend a little time with their Aunt Tess too! We had a great time and the visit was lots of fun.

We got to my moms on Sunday evening, Saw MY Grandparents on Monday, got to catch up with my sister ALL week. I think that was my favorite part :P
Lots of play time with their cousins Drake and Colt for both kids it meant plenty of imagination and plenty of laughs.

There was always good food with My mom and sister around. I dont know why but when I visit, I never end up doing any of the cooking...I would love to help, but its a nice break I suppose. :)

It had been a while since we had all gotten together. Almost 2 years actually. So we enjoyed every minute spent together.

On the way home we stopped thru San Antonio to visit Robs other Aunt Jeana, and family.
We got in town around 3 or so, and were greeted by Robs Grandparents, Uncle, and Jeana and Max! :)
Always so very fun, we relaxed and had dinner later with Laura and William, Robs Cousin and his fiance'
The next day we were to head home, but not before we got to do a little Santa shopping first. :)
While the kids hung out, played games, and watched movies. We found Sarah asleep when we got back :P.
We left around 4 and returned home late Thursday Evening. Just in time to start our own family traditions.

Labor Day weekend, Sarahs School on fire.

Last weekend seemed to be coming up quickly and we really needed the break from school and work. Just to relax do nothing and REST..I was worn out. So was Robert. And yes the kids were SUPER TIRED.

But before we could begin out "do nothing" weekend, Sarah had to outshine the wonderfulness of FRIDAY by having a fire at her school, IN her classrooms bathroom.

I got a call but they didnt leave a voicemail, which upset me.
I called them back, and they said I needed to come get Sarah, because the school had a fire...WHAT?!? She said it so nonchalantly I couldn't believe what I had just heard. I started panicking and she told me to not hurry and take my time, but I needed to come get her as soon as possible. Well OF COURSE I would hurry, drop everything and rush right over...I get there, fire trucks gone, doors wide open, and moms, dads, and teachers everywhere trying to direct frazzled kids. To me it smelt like a big block party barbecue that decided to relocate inside, no lights, or a/c on. I took Sarah back with me to school where Robert met me to keep her for 2 more hours till I got off. Phew, what a Friday afternoon we all had!

Here they all are "resting" last weekend. Worn out from a busy, crazy Friday. :)

Caleb's Windsock He made at Moms Day out for July 4th!
Just a few pics from our July 4th Holiday!

Caleb has been having a great summer doing so many things. The Windsock is just one of the things he gets to make everyday at MDO every week. :) June was bugs and this month is packed with fun filled trips to the Fire Station, Library, Water Day, and Back to CVG (gymnastics)!

Saturday we decided to grill hamburgers and take out the pool for him to relax. Once Sarah saw how much fun brother was having, she just HAD to get in the water too! They are both such water babies! Everyone had ton of fun!

Its a beautiful day!

It was a beautiful day for a change in San Angelo, Texas for the first time in a long time on Easter Sunday. (usually rainy, cold and just plain gross!)

We had a little rain last night, however that didn't stop the sun from coming out this morning.
Everyone was dressed to the "T" for church. And I was so PROUD of my BOYZ in their dress shirts, slacks and ties. Very Handsome!
Caleb woke up ready for the Easter Egg Hunt At our Church. He came to the house and dropped off some Wow Wow Wubzy puzzles and Oreo Cakesters...Calebs Favorite! ;)

Then He Came to church via MiMi with ANOTHER gift and his Easter Basket for the egg hunt.
Very Awesome, So Caleb Said. LOL.

Aunt B and Uncle G. Visited with Cousin Wesley. Both Girls were BEAUTIFUL in their Easter Dresses.

We had special music with both Daddy (As Jesus) and Caleb in the production.
Daddy Also Did 3 Baptisms this morning as well. Momma was VERY Proud watching while holding Sarah! They both did great.

We also had a HUGE potluck at church with all the fixins'
Although the ground was too wet, we still had our Annual Easter Egg Hunt INSIDE and there were eggs and candy EVERYWHERE?!!? While the bigger kids were picking up all the candy that had FALLEN OUT OF the EGGS, Caleb was more concerned with obtaining all of the EMPTY eggs in his basket. Gotta Love it!

After all was said and done Caleb walked away with TONS of Empty Eggs and Candy. :)

We went over to MIMI and PAPAs for the girls Easter Baskets filled with little rompers, toys, teethers and miscellaneous baby items. The "Easter BUNNY" Did a great job this year!
Kids made out like BANDITS!

Later on that afternoon we all had naps and went over to M/P's for Hamburgers, Chips and Brownies (YUMMO!) while watching the very entertaining new movie "Bedtime Stories" Starring Adam Sandler. Haven't Seen it?! Got GET IT. You'll be glad you did!

So. Hope everyone had a great RESURRECTION day AND Happy Easter.

Love YA'LL!

3/24/08

What a weekend. Boy! I'm thankfully glad that its at an end. Pretty much it started on Thurs., and finished with Easter. Caleb turned 3 Thursday and we were all so excited, all of us, except for Caleb that is. I'm beginning to think that this "new baby" concept has put our little precious boy into a new dimension of upset. Nothing pleases, consoles, comforts or delights Caleb as it used to. He doesn't even LIKE me anymore, which breaks my heart. :( It took all our energy to go out to eat at Rosa's for his birthday dinner. With an abundance of whining remarks from the birthday boy about wanting only to open presents and not finish his food. He Got Shoes, Bob-the-Builder Tools and a new backpack. Tr es' Chic! Amidst all the whining and being upset about absolutely nothing, I did get a couple of smiles out of him:

Calebs new back pack!
Calebs new Car's Shoes

Cut to Friday, different day, same attitude. Robert and I went birthday shopping for Caleb after work and he stayed at Mimi's/Grandpa's for a couple hours. We couldn't get him to lay down for bed, but he finally fell asleep in mom/dads bed. Yay!!
Sat morning, a little better, a lot hyper. Watched Enchantment and Caleb loved the chipmunk, but not the singing. Neither did daddy ;) This was definitely your classic little girls musical! Very Sweet! After the movie, we headed out to the mall to pick up family pics and have some sort of nourishment besides the two donuts that Caleb had at 8 that morning. Hence, the hyper. :) The Family Pics turned out super and so was breakfast. Went to a couple more places and ended up going home around 1 to rest/nap before the party. Still psyched cause the weather couldn't be better except for strong wind gusts. Everyone out the door by 2:30 and over to the park. Loaded down with ice cream, juice and loads of plates, cups, etc. themed of Bob-the-Builder, we were ready for a party! We were lucky to score a table and set up with little trouble. The wind was CRAZY!? Caleb was more excited about playing in the sand than helping out to set up. Luckily Kaylee, his daycare friend showed up! His excitement doubled after that! Some guests included: Aunts and Uncles, Great Grandparents, Grandparents, Mom and Dad, and some friends from Saturday night church service.
At Kirby Park with Kaylee, Calebs birthday party.
Kaylee and Caleb sliding

About to dive into the cake. Literally they just stuck their hands in!

With dozens of presents and plenty of cake, the birthday party was a hit! We wrapped up about 4:30 and we appreciated all that came and joined in on the fun.
Easter Sunday, was your regular cold/rainy Easter here in West Texas. I didn't bother wearing a dress or anything that resembled spring warm weather, except for a purple maternity shirt and khaki pants. Caleb wore his Church clothes that his MIMI had bought him. My sweet boy was ready for church in a tie, dress slacks, all the way down to his black penny loafers.
So church and dinner on the grounds, but no Easter egg hunt. It was just too rainy and wet. Caleb was set on having candy for dessert, and here came the "Easter bunny" at church with his dozens of plastic sack filled with Easter eggs for the kids. The Bunny always pulls through ;) Later, we went home for a nap, with another present from the Easter Bunny, A basketball hoop at Caleb's house! Then off again to Mimi's house for cheeseburgers and leftover birthday cake....with more Easter Bunny stops. This time he got a Wagon full of goodies, bubble bath and "egg" chalk.
Least to say our weekend was full of eventful experiences. Thanks again to all who attended the party and helped out. Hope everyone had an egg-cellent Resurrection Weekend! Praise Him for the rain and the sunshine! Jesus IS alive!
